Grants - ACCT
The Association of Church College Trusts was formed in 1979, as a loosely-knit organisation of autonomous trusts. These Trusts were the legacy of twelve Anglican colleges of education which had been closed in cutbacks. In their different ways the Trusts still support and promote the work in education originally done by the colleges.
Although all the Trusts have some involvement with RE and church-related education, each has a different emphasis and some have additional priorities. Many Trusts focus on projects in their own geographical location.

CULHAM EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The
Trust gives mainly personal grants not exceeding £1000 to practising Anglicans who
are pursuing personal study, or undertaking projects, or research, primarily relating to
RE in schools. Normally consideration will be given only to applicants who live or work in
the Diocese of Oxford.

HOCKERILL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

with a priority to the teaching of RE.

ST LUKE'S COLLEGE FOUNDATION
Individual/Corporate grants
The
Foundation's object is the advancement of further and higher education in religious education
and theology. Grants are awarded to individuals for research and taught postgraduate qualifications
in these fields; and to eligible organisations for related initiatives and facilities.
The
Foundation does not finance buildings, or provide bursaries for institutions to administer;
and it is precluded from the direct support of schools (although it supports teachers who
are taking eligible studies).

THE FOUNDATION OF ST MATTHIAS
Individual grants
The
Foundation's primary object is the advancement of further or higher education in the Dioceses
of Bath & Wells, Bristol and Gloucester and in particular the enhancement of education
in accordance with the doctrines of the Church of England. However, applications from individuals
of other faiths, or none, are not excluded. Under the terms of the governing Scheme grants
may be given for training of social, community, and youth workers and teachers; for training
ministers of the Church of England (or of a church in communion therewith) and to assist
with the study of music and the arts. Small 'one-off' awards are usually for assistance with
fees and/or books.
Due
to the small amounts of money available and the large number of applications, there are bound
to be some disappointments. Low priority has to be given to service overseas, sabbaticals
and long study leave and it is not normally possible to award grants for second or subsequent
degrees or for studies in medicine, engineering, law, or veterinary science.
The Trustees will not make general or block grants or provide bursaries for other institutions
to administer.
Corporate grants
Consideration
is usually restricted to bodies promoting projects for the educational training of others.
Priority is given to imaginative new projects which will enhance the church's contribution
to further or higher education.

SARUM ST MICHAEL EDUCATIONAL CHARITY
