Living Stones
CD-Rom for 8-14 year olds, focusing on twelve stories
of events from the arrival of Christianity in Britain to the present day.
Stories are presented using a variety of different styles of visual and
aural presentation including video. The central emphasis is on the experience
of faith, but the material has a much wider use in cross-curricular
work - one school managed to build a whole week's work from it!
The disc is presented by Colin Baker (one-time Dr Who). Music is provided by Chichester Cathedral Choir. Contents include:
- 12 stories
- The ‘Gargoyle’ game - a fun way to test knowledge
- Timeline
- Biblical and historical references
- Background material
- Support manual including photocopiable resources and detailed suggestions for classroom use.
Most material, including the stories, can be printed off for drama work in the classroom. Also suitable for KS3 work in RE and Humanities, and for general interest.
