MOSES:
CLOUD AND FIRE

Teacher Notes

Appropriate use in the classroom

This is a short passage but it contains material that lends itself to classroom use in two areas:

  1. It can contribute to work on religious symbols or on the nature of God, where the symbols of cloud and fire are powerful expressions of God's presence.

  2. Perhaps verses 17 and 18 could be presented as allowing pupils a peep into God's character. While it might appear almost blasphemous to put God 'into the psychiatrist's chair', nevertheless these revealing verses give the opportunity to do just that.
