Scenario 5
You have been asked to do something about Easter with Years 1 & 2, but you have been asked not to mention anything about the Crucifixion. How do you respond?
Clues
- Discuss the teachers' anxieties. Why don't they want you to mention the Crucifixion? Listen carefully to what they are saying. Try to find out (tactfully) whether the responses are for religious or other reasons.
- Show how the idea of the Crucifixion is integral to the Easter story. Again, tact will be needed, especially with people who do not share your beliefs.
- Work together to come to a resolution and strategy for dealing with the anxieties.
