Welcome to 'Knowledge Content in RE: Christianity'
A site for teachers new to R.E.
This resource is for any graduate who wants to be an RE teacher but who has no background in religious studies.
There is a constellation of websites and other material available about Christianity so it is easy to get hold of resources. Interpreting and using them, though, can be another matter. Where to begin? This site aims to give you an insight into the most important issues and some idea of the range of beliefs and practices in Christianity. It is not exhaustive but it will point you in the right direction in a way that we hope will lead you to further exploration. Each section has links to relevant websites and the section ‘Choosing and Using Resources’ should give some help in knowing which of the others to use.
Working your way through the sections of this site will give you:
- A greater awareness of your own knowledge levels.
- Key facts and background through sections dedicated to specific topics.
- Sources of further help and information.
All the material on the site has been provided by specialists. We are especially grateful to colleagues at the Universities of Brunel, Exeter and Warwick and at Stapleford House.
