Barbara Wintersgill
Barbara
Wintersgill has a BA and MA in Theology from Exeter University and qualified as a teacher at
King’s College London. She taught RE in London for fifteen years, mainly as a head of
department. Barbara is well known among RE specialists as having held two of the most senior
national posts in RE; subject officer at NCC and SCAA and for nine years the HMI Specialist
Adviser in RE working for Ofsted. Barbara led several whole school inspections between 2005-2006
and has been involved in the inspection of initial teacher training for many years.
