About the Leaders
Ian Hartland
Ian Hartland is one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI) with Ofsted with a particular oversight of independent faith schools. He has been the Ofsted representative on the RE Council. He has worked as an RE teacher, a teacher-trainer in higher education, a lecturer in theology/Religious Studies and as the Kent County Adviser for RE. He was on the executive of the PCfRE and was Reviews Editor for REsource. He has written on teaching and leadership in RE, collective worship and spiritual development and has produced reviews and articles for the journals REsource and RE Today.
