About the Leaders
Lizzie McWhirter
Lizzie McWhirter has wide experience of primary school teaching including Deputy Headship. A former lecturer in primary RE at the University of Hertfordshire, she has written and researched materials for school worship and RE. Her current role as an RE adviser and inspector involves supporting church schools in their worship, RE , spirituality and in all matters relating to denominational inspection, Foundation Governors, and appeals and admissions. Lizzie is member of the Board of Directors for the RE Council of England and Wales. As Church schools representative on the UK Godly Play Schools Project, she has been innovative in using Godly Play to support bereavement work in schools. Lizzie also serves on three SACRES.
