About The Weekend
Background
The St Gabriel's Programme has hosted an RE Teacher Weekend since 1997. The conference is organised by Culham Institute and has earned itself a prestigious national reputation for providing professional and stimulating in-service training.
The programme funds this considerably expensive event, ensuring that it remains free to RE teachers who have not attended before, in order to:
- provide quality INSET from respected RE professionals;
- show you that what you do is valued and appreciated; we want you to feel as important as you are;
- provide you with the opportunity to meet fellow colleagues, with whom you can share and compare experiences and ideas.
Practical Information
Free to all first time attendees - The St Gabriel's Programme meets all conference and accommodation fees. All you need to do is get to Wokefield and pay for any incidental expenses, such as drinks at the bar. Due to the rising cost of this event we ask applicants who have attended previous weekends to pay a nominal fee of £40.
Dedicated to hosting professional conferences, Wokefield park is set in 250 acres of parkland and has excellent indoor and outdoor leisure facilities. On Saturday night you will be able to enjoy the centre's impressive cuisine and then dance the night away or enjoy drinks and conversation at the bar. Wokefield will happily cater for any dietary needs as well as religious observances and is fully equipped for disabled delegates.
Travel
Free shuttle buses from Reading Station. Ample parking at venue.
