Primary and Secondary Plenary Sessions

Outline of Seminar

In the plenary sessions, delegates will be addressed by three professionals who are at the forefront of national policyfor Religious Education:

Alan Brine, HMI responsible for Religious Education

Mark Chater, RE officer with QCA, and

John Keast, representing the DfES

These experts will share with delegates their views on the place of RE in the 21st century curriculum, their opinions aboutthe essential place of RE in the classroom and the strategies RE teachers will need to employ to make the subject relevant to the needs of their pupils and students.

The floor will then be opened for a Q&A session, chaired by Terence Copley, in which our experts will be available to answer questions from delegates, and will thereby be able to share the wealth of experience they have gleaned from the classroom and their advisory and inspectorial roles.
